MEETING START
Hello everyone and welcome to this service meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. My name is ________ and I am an alcoholic.
It is customary at this meeting, to begin with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. May we have that moment now, please?
God, grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change; the courage to change the things we can; and the wisdom to know the difference.
PREAMBLE
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.
There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. At this meeting, contributions are given. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution, does not wish to engage in any controversy, and neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
NEWCOMERS
Is there anyone new to AA or attending this meeting for the first time who would like to introduce themselves by first name?

1. The 12 Steps (short form) – A.A.'s principles for personal recovery
2. The 12 Traditions (short form) – which ensures the unity of the Fellowship
3. Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
